Masks are made out of medical grade material that will absorb water and soap, clogging the pores. Do not wash masks with water or soap.
To sanitize your mask, simply spray entire mask with 70% or higher grade isopropyl alcohol. You may also sanitize the mask by placing entire mask in oven at 165/170 for 30 minutes. Remove vent before placing in oven.
Wearing a mask while wet with isopropyl alcohol can result in nausea.
To spot clean use only DISTILLED water.
As with any material, eventually the mask will show wear. It depends on how long and how often you wear your mask. If you notice that your mask isn't as easy to breathe out of or if you feel like the material isn't as stiff you may need a new mask. This can take anywhere from 2-4 months of constant use.
The vent is a one way valve that filters incoming air and when you exhale your unfiltered air is released outside of the vent. The vent helps keep your face cooler. The mask protects the wearer but we advise if you are around others who don't have protection for themselves or are at high risk to wear a non-vented mask.
